My work looks at human interaction with the environment, especially themes around water, elements, journey and memory. I am passionate about art-science collaboration and communication, particularly on environmental and ecological themes.

Leverhulme artist in residence with glaciologists from Sheffield University and the University of Norway in Svalbard. Artist in residence with scientists/researchers in Terra Nova NP Canada, outback Australia (Kimberley/Tasmania), on wooden boat sailing to Greenland and with ExeterMarine and Galapagos Conservation Trust. Lead Artist for Exeter City Council street furniture commission and for The Crown Estate with Princesshay. Exhibited at the Royal Geographical Society (RGS-IBG) in London. Susie Williamson

I work with acrylics on canvas, painting abstract landscapes, portraits, and intricate, hand-painted mosaics. Much of my work encompasses reinventing, reimagining and recalling life from my work and travel in the Sudan and South Africa. I have exhibited in the Menduina Schneider Multidisciplinary Salon 2020.

I am also a fantasy fiction writer published by Stairwell Books, author of the series, Blood Gift Chronicles. Catherine Denison (Dartizen Art)

Colour is a key feature in Catherine’s art. She produces inspired pieces, often experimental, neo-cubist or abstract in nature, particularly enjoying working with acrylics and encaustic wax. My very colourful artwork aims at being in service of everyone who is looking for meaning and joy in there lives. I am present in hospitals and I am working towards using this specific artform in my developing psychosynthesis practise. Afra Kingdon

Founder of 'Earth Nurse Press' - a practical conservation, cultural events and publishing organisation specialising in children's books and poetry. I have had the privilege of working with colleagues in many countries and communities around the world, such as Mozambique, Portugal, China, Laos, Cambodia, Ireland, the UK, San Bushmen communities in Botswana, Aboriginal artists in Australia, Germany, Italy, etc. I am now developing a museum on the Cornwall/Devon border called 'The Chapel of the Anthropocene - A Miniature Museum of Global Poetry on the Dreadful and the Divine' and also a Roma story-telling and heavy horse project called 'The UK's First Ever Four-Legged Library'.

Through my books, posters, wardening and other work, I voluntarily fundraise and promote for organisations like WWF, Birdlife International/RSPB/FOE/Greenpeace and others and have been endorsed by the UNEP for their International Polar Year 2007 and by UNICEF in Laos and Botswana, IUCN, Panthera, FFI, etc, I hope to be an active part of 'The Big Draw' and will also be contributing to community beach clean-up operations and campaigns with 'Surfers Against Sewage', 'City to Sea' and 'The 2 Minute Foundation' in and around Bude/North Devon, using my marine conservation stories for children and my miniature donkey and Exmoor pony in tow!
